Looking forward to next season

Now all the important matches are over – the League One and League Two play-offs – we can see who mighty Wolves are visiting in the autumn.

Some clubs we haven’t played for decades, half a dozen others are ex-Premiership opposition. Two are new and, in Crawley’s case, exceptionally lucky to be here at all.

Ignoring cup matches:

The 80s – Shrewsbury, Carlisle, Leyton Orient, Bournemouth

The 90s – Brentford, Notts County, Oldham, Swindon, Port Vale

The 00s – Tranmere, Bradford, Walsall, Wimbledon/MK Dons, Gillingham, Rotherham, Colchester, Coventry, Sheffield United, Preston

Last season – Peterborough, Bristol City

Still have to wait a while for the dates but Swindon and Gillingham should be ones to visit (local family). Maybe Crawley and Stevenage for the sheer novelty. Brentford would make a nice London trip. MK Dons is obviously off-limits.
