Listening to Miles Jupp narrating an episode of Radio 4’s Seriously… – “The home of quirky, curious and seriously interesting documentaries” – and conversation turns to William Wallace Cook, a writer from 100 years ago. His autobiography was entitled: “The Fiction Factory: Being the Experience of a Writer Who, for Twenty-Two Years, has Kept a Story-Mill Grinding Successfully” and I thought “that must be where the famous Scottish 1980s one-hit-wonders got their name from.
